Cloudy, cool, and rainy until Wednesday
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Meteorologist Jake Dunne says get set to get wet. A couple of disturbances coming out of the Rockies will move through the state today and Tuesday. Expect light rain this morning to taper off this afternoon. However, rain returns late tonight and continues to fall on Tuesday before ending Tuesday night.
While nothing heavy nor severe is in the forecast, beneficial rainfall totals between .50″ and one inch are likely across Kansas. The rain will mix with snow at times over the northwest corner of the state and some light, slushy accumulation is possible on grassy areas, but travel will not be impacted.
Monday will not feel like May. Wake-up temperatures in the 40s will only climb into the upper 50s and that places us 15 to 20 degrees below normal. Tuesday and Wednesday will also be cooler than normal before warmer weather returns by the end of the week.
