Nice today, wet and cool the rest of the holiday weekend
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A mix of sunshine and clouds most of the day with a few storms developing in far western Kansas after 5 pm. Severe weather this afternoon/evening will be confined to the high plains of Colorado, New Mexico. Cool but nice this afternoon with highs in the 60s and low 70s. Increasing clouds tonight with showers and storms across western Kansas moving toward central Kansas by morning.
Off/on showers and a few rumbles Sunday and even Memorial Day. The clouds and precipitation will keep temperatures about 15-20 degrees cooler than normal for late May. Highs on Sunday and Monday will only reach the upper 50s and 60s across Kansas. Rainfall amounts of 1-2 will be common across most of western and central Kansas with lesser amounts to the east.
Cool weather continues for Tuesday with widely scattered showers possible, then we dry out and start to warm up by the middle and end of the week. Highs in the 70s and 80s with only a slight chance of afternoon storms on Wednesday. A good stretch of dry weather headed into the first weekend of June.
