Cool and soggy weather the next few days
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Wet weather and cool temperatures will be the weather theme the next few days.
Scattered showers and occasional lightning across western and central Kansas this morning will move into south-central Kansas after 10am. The clouds and scattered rains will keep temperatures unseasonably cool for late May with highs in the upper 50s and 60s today and Memorial Day. While we are not expecting rain every hour through Memorial Day, the overall trend is soggy. Severe storms are not expected, however occasional lightning strikes, heavy downpours will be common. Rainfall amounts of 1-2″ will be common with locally heavier amounts across the southern Kansas.
Scattered light showers are possible on Tuesday, however expected to be more widely scattered in nature. Again clouds and off/on showers will keep temperatures well below normal for June 1st. We begin to dry out Tuesday night and temperatures will begin to warm into the 70s on Wednesday. By the end of the week, plenty of sunshine in the forecast with temperatures back to normal. Highs in the low to mid 80s through the period into next weekend.
