Warm, quiet weekend
Afternoon highs will be above normal & dry weather continues
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Chief Meteorologist Ross Janssen says that much of Kansas will feel the early summer heat throughout the weekend. Afternoon clouds will pop up, but rain chances remain near zero through Sunday.
Early Saturday, temperatures will be in the 50s and 60s with light winds. South breezes will kick up a bit in the afternoon with a few gusts between 25 and 30 mph. Highs will be in the 85-90 degree range for most of the state.
The weather on Sunday won’t change much. More clouds in central and eastern Kansas will shave a few degrees off the high temperatures. It still looks like we will have mid to upper 80s rounding out the weekend. And south winds may not be a strong.
A very slight chance for some rain will return to the eastern third of Kansas Monday. Severe weather is unlikely and any rain that does pop up will be extremely hit and miss.
More heat is expected as we approach the middle of next week.
