Even hotter Thursday
Temperatures and humidity will climb before a cold front arrives Friday
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Chief Meteorologist Ross Janssen says that much of Kansas should prepare for even hotter temperatures on Thursday as the humidity remains high. Heat indices will be near 100 for a good portion of the afternoon.
There will be a slight chance for a couple of thunderstorms overnight and early Thursday, but those will fade by mid-morning as the sun returns and the temperatures rise. Highs will be in the low to mid 90s, but it will feel hotter with the humidity.
A cold front arrives on Friday to drop the humidity and bring in some slightly “cooler” temperatures. There won’t be any rain Friday as much of that will remain north of our area.
Look for dry weather throughout much of the weekend, but some scattered storms will return to western Kansas by Sunday night. Most of Kansas could be in the running for some scattered storms on Monday.
