Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office assists hundreds with KDOL ID verification
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office says it has assisted approximately 300 claimants through the KDOL Identity Verification process as of June 14, 2021.
The sheriff’s office says it will continue to assist the public and KDOL with this process to help accelerate unemployment benefits to eligible Kansans.
Claimants interested in completing the KDOL Identity Verification process are urged to visit the nearest participating law enforcement agency. A list of participating agencies is located at https://www.dol.ks.gov/web/guest/law-enforcement-identity-verification
In order to complete the identity verification, claimants must provide documents that establish identity and employment authorization. For most claimants, a state-issued picture ID or driver’s license, as well as their social security card or certified copy of their birth certificate, is required. If the claimant wishes to have their unemployment benefits deposited directly to their banking account they will need to provide the bank routing number as well as their account number on the Identity Verification form.
