(KWCH) - Meteorologist Jake Dunne says our warming trend continues Wednesday as we heat up into the upper 90s this afternoon. A splash of humidity will make it feel like 100 degrees later today underneath a sunny sky.

Highs around 100 degrees Thursday and Friday will feel like 100 to 105 degrees when you factor in climbing humidity. Please limit your outdoor activities during the afternoon and if you must be outside during the heat of the day, remember to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks in the shade.

A slow-moving cold front this weekend will bring the heatwave to an end. Humid high temperatures in the lower to middle 90s and Saturday and Sunday will fall into the 80s early next week.

The front will also bring showers and storms back to the state. A few storms on Friday and Saturday nights, mainly north of I-70, will be followed by scattered storms over south-central Kansas on Sunday afternoon.
