Man accused of killing QT security guard to have mental examination
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A man charged with killing a QuikTrip security guard in downtown Wichita, will undergo a mental competency examination, court documents show.
The attorney for Laroy West said the man arrested for murder and criminal-possession-of-a-firearm charges, may be incompetent to stand trial in the May 5 shooting of Will Robinson that stemmed from a disturbance at the QuikTrip near Murdock and Broadway. Robinson died from his injuries on May 7 at a Wichita hospital.
Police said Robinson was shot after West was escorted out of the QuikTrip because he was causing a disturbance.
