KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KWCH) - If you’re looking for a getaway that won’t put a strain on your budget, Shane Konicki is helping you out with his Trips on Tankful segment. He’ll take you to stops across Kansas that will only take a tank of gas.

This week, he traveled to Kansas City where you can find entertainment, good food and it’s only a two-and-half-hour drive.

First, Shane stopped by the Legoland and SeaLife Aquarium, a great spot to keep the kids busy and keep them learning over the summer break. You can find more info on times and ticket prices at www.visitsealife.com/kansas-city and www.legolanddiscoverycenter.com/kansas-city.

Then, Shane found three local eateries sure to fill you up after a full day of fun. The first stop, The Farmhouse which serves food that comes directly from the community, then The Local Pig for a taste of the “pigwich” and finally, Slaps BBQ (I mean, you can’t go to Kansas City without making at least one barbecue stop).

And if you’re looking for something educational to round out your trip, don’t forget to stop by the American Jazz Museum. The historic site is not just a museum but also a jazz club! Find out how to check out all the cool secrets at their website: www.americanjazzmuseum.org
