EASTBOROUGH, Kan. (KWCH) - Wichita police are assisting with an investigation after they say a woman was abducted from her vehicle while driving through Eastborough. The incident happened around 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday.

The woman’s 11-year-old son told police he and his mother were driving through Eastborough when a black Dodge Ram pick-up pulled in front of her and forced her to stop. The boy said his mother’s ex-boyfriend got out of the truck and was armed. He said the man beat his mother, pulled her out from her vehicle and forced her into the pick-up. A second person then got out of the man’s truck and drove off with the woman’s vehicle.

The boy ran to another vehicle, and a call was placed to 911 from Douglas and Woodlawn. The calling party then drove the boy to Wichita Patrol East where he recounted his story to investigators.

Police later located the woman and her vehicle in the 5800 block of East Pembrook. She was then taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries.

Anyone with information on the case or the two suspects is asked to call WPD detectives at 316-268-4407 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
