KU Police: No foul play suspected in student’s death on campus

TOPEKA, Kan. (KWCH/WIBW) - Update Monday: Police say no foul play is suspected after a female student’s death at the University of Kansas, according to The University Daily Kansan, a student-run newspaper on campus.

UDK reports police discovered the student around 5:42 p.m. in her dorm room while responding medical emergency at Lewis Hall.

Police say the investigation is ongoing. They are not releasing the student’s name at this time.

According to UDK and a news release from police, any student who is troubled by this event is encouraged to contact Counseling and Psychological Services, 785-864-2277, or use MySSP ( to call and speak with professional counselors 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The University of Kansas Public Safety Office confirmed there has been a death at one of the university’s dorms Sunday night.

KU Public Safety Office confirmed that the incident happened at Lewis Hall Dormitory, 1530 Engel Rd.

KU Public Safety Office did not confirm if it was a student death.
