Police identify man who died from injuries suffered on job in SW Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Update: Wichita police identified a man killed in a Thursday afternoon workplace incident in southwest Wichita. David Adams, of Towanda, was found not breathing when first responders arrived at the scene in the 3200 block of West May.

Police said Adams was working on a trailer when the fatal injury happened. They said a coworker came into the area where Adams had been working and found him underneath the trailer with a portion of the axle on top of him. Adams died at the scene, police said. Police said foul play isn’t suspected.

Update: A man died from his injuries Thursday afternoon in what’s described as a workplace accident. It happened a little before 2 p.m. in the 3200 block of West May Street, south of Harry and Southwest Boulevard, in southwest Wichita.

Wichita police said a piece of equipment fell on the man, pinning him underneath. The man died at the scene. The investigation into what led up to the accident continues.

One person suffered critical injuries in an industrial accident reported Thursday afternoon in the 3200 block of West May Street, in southwest Wichita. This is south of West Harry Street and Southwest Boulevard.

A Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said the injury resulted from a piece of fallen equipment. 12 News sent a crew to gather further information.
