Garden City homicide suspect dead following standoff with police
DODGE CITY, Kan. (KWCH) - Update: Dodge City police say the suspect in a homicide out of Garden City last week is dead. Negotiators spent the early morning hours talking with Armando Campos, who was inside a home in Dodge City.
Police say Campos died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and there is no longer a threat to the community.
Negotiators were in the area of Market Circle overnight talking with him working to get him to surrender. But, early Monday morning, he was found dead inside the home.
As of 6:00 a.m., police were still processing the scene.

The Dodge City Police Department (DCPD) said officers are currently on the scene negotiating with Armando Campos.
DCPD is asking people to stay clear of the Market Circle area. DCPD said Campos is considered to be armed at this time.

The Garden City Police Department is asking for help finding a suspect in a fatal stabbing that happened this week.
On Friday afternoon, Garden City police found the body of 63-year-old Julia Landeros inside a home in the 1300 block of Conkling Ave. She had been stabbed.
Police believe she had been killed earlier in the week, and identified 44-year-old Armando Campos as a suspect.
Campos is around 5-foot-6-inches tall, weighs about 180 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. He is missing part of his right leg and walks using a prosthetic. He is from Garden City.
