Police identify man hit by car, killed at West and Murdock
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - UPDATE: The Wichita Police Department identified 68-year-old Michael Llamas, of Wichita, as the man who died from his injuries at the scene Thursday night where a car hit him as he was crossing a west Wichita street.
At about 9:20 p.m., police said officers responded to the report of a vehicle hitting a person at the intersection of Murdock and West Street.
The investigation revealed [Llamas] was crossing from the west side to the east side of West Street and slightly south of Murdock when a Chevy Trailblazer, driven by a 24-year-old woman, hit him, police said.
Police ask anyone who witnessed what happened to contact detectives at 316-350-3687.
A man died from his injuries after a vehicle hit him as he was crossing the street. A Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said the crash happened a little after 9:20 p.m. in the 800 block of North West Street.
Police said a man was not in a crosswalk when a vehicle traveling north on West Street hit him. The man died at the scene, police said.
As of late Thursday night, the investigation into the crash continued.
